0% VAT on qualifying residential solar installations until 31 March 2027
Under current rules, qualifying residential solar installations benefit from 0% VAT until 31 March 2027.
From 1 April 2027, the rate is scheduled to return to 5%.
With the Smart Export Guarantee, eligible households can also be paid for surplus electricity exported to the grid.
